Did your computer monitor just suddenly turn black? Listen to my story of how we found the solution.
So there I was, getting ready to make a video using the Logitech webcam, when the screen turned BLUE for about half a second.
I was able to catch the word “failure” before the 19″ Samsung SyncMaster SA 300 LED flat panel monitor suddenly went black. And the blue “ON” light on the lower righthand part of the monitor just kept blinking.
I switched off the desktop computer then switched it back on. But still there was nothing on the screen, and the blue light just kept on blinking.
After switching the CPU off then on around 5 times, I brought the CPU to the computer shop.
It turns out that the RAM Memory boards had dirty contacts.
The computer hardware technician pulled the two 2GB memory boards from the motherboard, clean the gold contacts, re-inserted the memory back into the motherboard and… I was able to see the Windows 7 logon screen again. How about you? How did you solve your “Help! My monitor doesn’t work!” problem?
